The main problem with the immortality dream is that it is meaningless as a coherent aspiration. All the things that we treasure and can therefore be aspired consistently in an essentially human life must be seen in light of the fact that we are finite and transient beings. Immortality will be bothersome for us. If we were immortal, we would no longer be distinctly regarded as human in our present form. However, even if we could somehow attain immortality, it could barely offer us what we sought from it, i.e, a version of our human self that would continue to live eternally.
Thus, the immortality dream is paradoxical in nature : if fulfilled, it will annihilate human's self
